About Studio Arvor
Arvor means ‘coast’ in the Cornish language.
Studio Arvor was founded by Jo Weaden on the North Cornish coast. Jo is a furniture designer maker and has been for over 10 years, she is passionate about the environment and this is reflected in her work.
Studio Arvor designs and hand-crafts furniture and home accessories from our Cornish studio and workshop using plant-based, responsibly-sourced materials with non-toxic finishes. Our items are made for longevity using craftsmanship alongside contemporary designs.
We highlight the provenance of each material and each product, aiming to be as transparent as possible. If you would like more information on the materials or products within our ranges or bespoke items, please contact us.
Studio Arvor contributes to community grant schemes, with 1% of sales being donated to local charities and groups supporting environmental work such as tree planting, nature conservation and outdoor education.
Our aim is to provide complete transparency regarding the sourcing of the materials we use, to give you peace of mind that the products are ethically and sustainably sourced.
Every item is designed and made in our workshop in Bude and for each piece we are able to tell you which saw mill the timber was purchased from, and in many cases we can even tell you where the tree grew.
MaterialsStudio Arvor prides itself on using the finest materials without comprising on our high environmental and social responsibility standards.
Each material selected for use in our products has been carefully evaluated to ensure that they are not only of high quality, but that they are managed and produced in a way that follows best practice – minimising environmental harm, providing employment for local communities and craftspeople and are safe for your home and indoor air quality.
In addition to considering every aspect of our environmental impact, we also take our social responsibility seriously.
